This place definitely serves one of the freshest and cleanest tasting soup dumplings (xiao long baos) in the DFW area. We had other soup dumplings at other places but Shanghai Taste is the most consistent with quality and freshness. The place is small but very clean with great service. The pan fried baos are also excellent as well as their scallion noodles, fried pork chops and the chocolate baos are a must try to end the meal on delicious sweet note.

Shanghai Taste is one of the best places for authentic Shanghainese food. The quality of the ingredients and the care in preparation really stand out. Every dish tastes freshly made—nothing feels like it has ever been near a microwave. The flavors are traditional, balanced, and consistently excellent. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes it comfortable for both family meals and casual gatherings. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, providing great service without being intrusive. If you’re looking for authentic Shanghai cuisine with fresh, high-quality food, a comfortable environment, and outstanding hospitality, Shanghai Taste is an easy recommendation. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Such a great dumpling spot! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and homemade. The dumplings were perfectly cooked with really delicious filling, and the sauces made them even better. The staff was kind and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. Definitely one of those places you want to come back to again. Highly recommend if you love good comfort food!

If you’re a dumpling lover, you got to try Shanghai Taste. This place is a hidden gem—small, always busy, and absolutely worth it. The soup dumplings were outstanding—perfectly delicate with a flavorful broth inside. We also tried the duck, which was incredibly succulent, along with their noodles and fried pork, both of which were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The fried rice was also excellent and complemented everything really well. Service was quick and efficient despite how busy it gets. Overall, everything we tried hit the spot. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving authentic and delicious Asian food.

March 2026 Shanghai cruise choices usually is not always top of my mind. However, we decided to stop by and try this restaurant. Even though, this restaurant has a small foot print but they are pretty efficient in serving the customers. We are on the small wait as we enter the restaurant. There is a table for 2 when we arrived. The server informed us do we mind squeezing on the small table since there are 3 of us in our party. This tender invitation makes us feel care for and considerate. We allowed them to provide for the next party since we prefer a larger table. Our order arrived timely. Our orders were freshly prepared and presented with care. We were impressed by the flavor and ingredients of the dishes even though all portions ware kind of small and delicate. My rating 5 as very satisfied Taste 5/5 Temperature 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Attentiveness 5/5 Speed of service 5/5 The suggested 20% gratuity on my charges was a little turn off. They don’t have to suggest to me on my tips. Let me decide. Other than that, I will return and recommend this place. Just double check on CC charges before you press ok.
